Sun
Valley, Idaho - Sun Valley is the oldest destination
ski resort in the US. Home of the world's first chairlift
(and reportedly the first hot tub!), Sun Valley is truly
a unique and classic ski resort. Long a favorite among the
Hollywood clique, Clark Gable, Errol Flynn, Gary Cooper,
Judy Garland, Paul Newman, Brooke Shields, George Hamilton,
Clint Eastwood and Marilyn Monroe are among past and present
fans of Sun Valley.
Built on a reputation of high class, Sun
Valley continues to be known for its ambience and classic
ski center feel but it also features excellent skiing and
snowboarding. The resort features two mountains, Dollar
and Baldy, which is considered by many to be one of the
best skiing mountains in the US. Dollar, on the other hand,
is a beginner's paradise with gentle, sunny slopes, groomed
to perfection.
